Green Horizon Awarded Best New Concept Home Design During National Congress and Expo15-Apr-2009 Green Horizon Manufacturing LLC, the emerging leader in on-demand, self-sustaining housing and commercial facility solutions, was today awarded "Best Concept Home" for its SFU40 Single-Family Home design during the National Congress Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bestowed annually by the Manufactured Housing Institute and National Modular Housing Council, this prestigious award recognizes excellence and encourages innovation in manufactured and modular home design and production. On hand to accept the award were James Pope, President and CEO of Green Horizon Manufacturing LLC; Peyton Bachan, Director of Humanitarian Outreach; Bob Booth, Chief Financial Officer; and Danny Lineberry, Director of National Distribution. Developed by Green Horizon, the SFH40 is a rapid deployment home designed for emergency and temporary housing applications. Completely self-sustaining, the SFU40 is designed to fit within a worldwide standard, 40-high cube marine shipping container, for easy transportation by truck, rail or ship anywhere in the world. The SFH40 also includes an integrated trailering system for transportation by truck. Completely self-sustaining, the SFH40
is capable of supporting a family of four with the essentials of life
for at least one week, without connecting to an existing
infrastructure. Each SFH40 unit includes a triple-power generator for
electricity which can be powered by the unit's roof-mounted solar
panels, built-in Lithium Ion battery system, or Propane®. Each unit
also includes an 800-gallon water supply, water filtration system, grey
water and black water holding tanks, along with standard RV connections
to any available existing infrastructure.
The
two-bedroom, one bath, SFH40 includes an energy-efficient heating and
cooling system, kitchenette, and integrated cabinetry for storage.
